I’m a UK-based producer working across the UK, India and international markets. I’ve been crossing borders since I was one, and moving between countries and cultures has inevitably shaped the way I see films — and the audiences I want them to reach.
Over 18 years and more than 100 productions, I’ve learnt how films get made — from shoestring independents to Harry Potter, and from London indie sets to some of India’s biggest advertising campaigns.
I didn’t take the most direct route to producing, and that became one of my greatest assets. I started in London in 2008, working across production, direction, art and even casting. While taking on HOD roles on smaller productions, working on Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows gave me a glimpse of filmmaking at the other end of the scale.
Five years later, moving to India threw me into an entirely different filmmaking culture. I spent several years in advertising, working closely with Indian and international directors on campaigns for L’Oréal, Pepsi, British Airways, Samsung, Hyundai and Canon. It was fast, demanding and a ground-level education in turning ambitious ideas into something you could actually shoot — usually at speed, with plenty of my favourite film skill: problem-solving.
My career also took me beyond the set. At Ransom Film in India, I wrote and designed treatment pitches, marketed directors and production services to senior agency creatives across the country, and sourced international talent for its roster of award-winning directors. Later, at Shoot Blue in London, I worked across business growth and industry partnerships while spearheading initiatives for women — from a female-focused equipment rental range to practical camera and lighting workshops with leading industry professionals and manufacturers.
All those different strands have brought me back to where I want to be: producing narrative work.
I’m now building a slate of shorts and features with international co-production at its core. Mentored by a multi-award-winning Iranian producer based in Berlin, I’m developing my understanding of international financing while building relationships across the UK, India and further afield.
At the centre of what I want to make are stories about women. Women who aren't flattened into types, and stories that can be complicated, funny, uncomfortable, culturally specific or unexpected. I believe that when a story is told with enough honesty and specificity, it can transcend borders of all kinds. Given the route I took to get here, perhaps it’s no surprise that those are the stories I’m drawn to.
I’m currently in post-production on a UK short while developing further short and feature projects, and looking to collaborate with writers, writer-directors and producing partners who want to make that kind of work.
